Boost your creativity in 2012
By William Seidman An engineering manager at a well-known high tech company came to us because of our work with positive deviants. He asked us if we could find out what his most highly creative people were doing that his less creative people were not doing. We used our “wisdom discovery” process with the top creative people and discovered that really creative people:
- Immerse themselves in the nitty-gritty of an area
- Talk to lots of people
- Ask huge numbers of questions
- Have an incredibly open mind get very deep into many aspects of a particular area.
- Then, they stop thinking about it — usually by doing something physical — then “poof” it all comes together.
