New Leadership Book Shows How to Optimize Your Star Performers

Portland, Oregon – Monday, January 14, 2013 – In their new book, William Seidman and Rick Grbavac of Cerebyte will show organizations how their star performers can drive success and create a leadership-rich culture. The book will be released in Fall 2013.

For more than a decade, Seidman and Grbavac have been helping organizations dramatically improve performance. A key component of their methodology starts with the most important asset every company already has: its star performers.

“They go by many names—top performers, stars, rainmakers; social scientists call them positive deviants,” the authors write. “Whatever you call them, these people drive the success of your company. They’re not only great at their jobs—they have a profound sense of purpose and they get things done.”

But most companies aren’t making the most of their positive deviants. With step-by-step instructions and real-world examples, Seidman and Grbavac help you discover what makes your top performers different—and how to harness their passion and sense of purpose so that others are inspired to become more like them.

Often, the things your top performers do are so natural to them that they have a hard time explaining their approach to anyone else. Seidman and Grbavac reveal how to help your stars articulate what drives them, and how to explain their knowledge and wisdom. The book then shows how to transform that passion and knowledge into engaging learning tasks, and it provides a roadmap for measuring success.

“Many people’s talent, experience, and skills, are needed to transform positive deviants’ knowledge into useful learning systems,” Seidman and Grbavac write. “Creating those learning systems and training coaches to teach them will transform ordinary managers and trainers into exceptional leaders.”
