{"id":12,"date":"2009-04-27T22:08:43","date_gmt":"2009-04-27T22:08:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cerebytejournal.com\/?p=543"},"modified":"2009-04-27T22:08:43","modified_gmt":"2009-04-27T22:08:43","slug":"fresh-thinking-at-the-ispi-international-society-for-performance-improvement-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cerebyte.com\/2009\/04\/27\/fresh-thinking-at-the-ispi-international-society-for-performance-improvement-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresh thinking at the ISPI (International Society for Performance Improvement) meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<![CDATA[\n\n<p><strong>By William Seidman<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>This year&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ispi.org\/\">International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI)<\/a> annual meeting in Orlando was great.<br \/>\nNo doubt due to the downturn, it was smaller than in the past &#8212; 500-600 people, but the energy level was high and my impression was that everyone who was there really wanted to be there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the highlights were the opening presentation by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goodmanspeakersbureau.com\/biographies\/peppers_don.htm\">Don Peppers <\/a>on leadership, particularly the need for leadership in these hard times. There were great presentations on Web 2.0 by <a href=\"http:\/\/julia.bulkowski.org\/\">Julia Bulkowski <\/a>and Erika Grouell, both from Google, use of stories in training by Jon Revelos (Bank of America), and about the transition from classroom training to e-training &#8211; web-based training &#8211;\u00a0by <a href=\"http:\/\/edweb.sdsu.edu\/people\/arossett\/ARossett.html\">Allison Rossett <\/a>(UCSD).<br \/>\nI presented on :<strong>Transcending Cultures: Change in Multi-Cultural, Multi-National Organizations<\/strong> and <strong>The Science of Cultural Change. <\/strong><br \/>\nWere you there, or wish you were?
